SHU’S EVENT RENTAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

By paying the invoice and accepting delivery of equipment, you automatically agree to comply with all terms and conditions outlined below. Any modifications must be in writing and approved by Shu’s Event Rental. "Client" refers to the person agreeing to these terms, while "Shu’s" or "Shu’s Event Rental" refers to the company.


1. Reserving Equipment:

To reserve rental items, a 25% deposit of the total order is required upon confirmation.

2. Final Payment:

Final payment is due one week before delivery.

3. Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellations 7+ days before the event: 25% deposit will be refunded.
  • Cancellations within 7 days of the event: The 25% deposit is non-refundable. You may reschedule the rental within 2 months, subject to item availability. If any rented items are unavailable on the new date, similar replacements will be provided.

4. Pick-Up:

All items must be broken down, stacked, and ready for pickup in the same location where they were delivered.

5. Delivery Policy:

  • Delivery Fee: Starts at $75 within a 50-mile radius.
  • Additional Charges may apply for:
    • Specific delivery times.
    • More than 100 feet from the truck.
    • Items needing to be carried upstairs.
    • Setup or breakdown services.
  • After-Hours Delivery: An additional fee applies for deliveries outside of regular business hours.

6. Equipment Responsibility & Cleaning Policy:

  • Responsibility: The client is responsible for all rental equipment from delivery to pickup, ensuring it's protected from weather and secured when not in use.
  • Trash & Decorations: Remove all trash and decorations from tents and surrounding areas after the event to avoid cleaning fees.
  • Linen Care: Remove linens from tables and stack them for counting at pickup. Additional charges apply for soiled or damaged linens.
  • Damage & Cleaning Fees: The client will be charged for any damage to equipment or additional cleaning required.
  • Return Conditions: Ensure all items are stacked in the same location they were delivered. Linens must be neatly piled for easy counting.

7. Responsibility of Use & Disclaimer of Warranties:

  • Assumption of Risk: The client assumes all risks related to the delivery, use, and return of rented equipment. Shu’s Event Rental is not responsible for any damage caused to underground utilities or the surrounding surface during installation or removal.
  • Warranties: No warranties, expressed or implied, are made concerning the equipment rented. The client is responsible for any damage or loss, and must cover repair or replacement costs.

8. Delivery, Acceptance, and Return of Equipment in Bad Weather:

  • Weather: Equipment may be delayed or rescheduled due to weather conditions. Shu’s Event Rental reserves the right to delay setup if severe weather poses a risk.
  • Evacuation Plan: The client is responsible for posting an OSHA-compliant evacuation plan in case of unsafe conditions.
  • Weather Conditions: Tents are temporary structures designed for normal weather conditions but may be unsafe in extreme conditions (high winds, lightning, etc.).

9. Site Preparation:

  • Client Responsibilities: Ensure the site is ready for setup (e.g., cleared of furniture, and properly mowed lawns).
  • Underground Utilities: Inform Shu’s Event Rental of any underground utilities or conditions that could affect the setup. The client assumes liability for damages to utilities if this information is not provided or is incorrect.

10. Damage & Liability:

  • Liability: Shu’s Event Rental is not liable for any injury or damage caused by rented equipment to the client or third parties. The client must inform Shu’s Event Rental in writing of any accidents or damages.

11. Summary of Client Responsibilities:

The client is responsible for equipment from delivery to pickup, including securing it when not in use, protecting it from weather, and returning it in good condition. The client will be responsible for any additional charges or fees resulting from failure to meet these terms, including collection fees, court costs, or attorney fees.

By paying this invoice, I acknowledge that I have read and agree to the above terms & conditions. This agreement is valid for all rental equipment purchased and supersedes any prior contracts.
